What is a song postcard? A song postcard is a two sided memento that further captures the charm of a melody with a visual media on the front (photograph) and written media on the back (full song lyrics). The photography being displayed on the card is personally taken to harmonize with the impression and feeling conveyed by the song. The goal is to give the song listener a deeper connection to the music as well as a collectible for their favorite selections.

It is worth noting your escape though, to live a life in the gutter, one filled with expired milk cartons and a yard full of belongings that eagerly want to come in. You made it, the high rise that you call home solidifies that feeling, but sometimes you dream. Dream of the days when you weren’t anything, when the only responsibility you vowed to yourself was to breathe.

Your visits will become less as time goes on, but you’ve cherished what you’ve lost. A token of appreciation for what used to be.

First to be introduced, the repetitive order of the songs main strumming pattern draws you in close. Although there are elements within the song to anchor you to this life, you can’t help but drift into the sea, only to reappear in an earlier time. One where the two pulls induced on your weathered body were love and war. Devoted to each, you’re met with decisions that can only allow one. A faint mist of regret hangs in the air as you choose love. Filled with determination, you look for your sweet, longing for a means to escape.
